Three ways in
The process is the same as for any client: remote, in writing, signed with a qualified electronic signature. What differs is the preparation.
Your company will be the owner
A standard SIA can be owned by another company. When it is, we check who stands behind it, through the levels of the group, and prepare the ownership details with you. Working out who ultimately owns and controls a company through several levels is easy to get wrong, so we do it with you.

Where registrations get stuck
A registration that looks simple can stop for reasons that are not obvious from the outside. These come from cases we have seen, anonymised. They are experience, not rules.
- A crowded addressWhen several companies are registered at the same address, the Register can send a new application to the State Revenue Service for a check. That can lengthen the process and can end in a refusal. One such case is described under cases we have handled. We limit how many companies share one of our addresses and count those still being registered. See the legal address.
- An ownership chainWorking out who ultimately owns and controls a company through several levels is easy to get wrong. In one case a company whose own accountant could not complete the registration came to us to finish it.
- Questions from the authoritiesIn our experience the questions can include what the company will actually do and who is behind it. We handle the follow-up and tell you in writing what to send and by when.
- DeadlinesThe Register sets deadlines for clarifications, and a late answer can mean the state fee is paid again. See our terms for how we treat that.

Questions about existing companies
Can my accountant or adviser stay involved?
Yes, you are welcome to involve your accountant or adviser. Tell us how you would like to work together and we agree it in writing. We still carry out our own identity and anti-money-laundering checks before we start working together, as the law requires of us (Article 11(1)).
What do you need to see about our group?
The owners of the group, level by level. Once we know the structure we confirm in writing what we need from you and what it will cost, and we ask for identity documents only after that.
What if the structure cannot be registered as planned?
We tell you in writing. Where the problem is something we prepared, we correct it at no additional fee. Where the reason is your information, your choices or a third party, further work and any new state fee are charged. If a check cannot be completed, we may have to refuse or stop the service, as our terms explain.
How much does it cost to take over a stalled registration?
It is clarified individually. We quote it in writing once we have seen what has already been done, before you pay.
