These come from cases we have seen, anonymised. They are experience, not rules. 1. **A crowded address**When several companies are registered at the same address, the Register can send a new application to the State Revenue Service for a check. That can lengthen the process and can end in a refusal. One such case is described under [cases we have handled](https://startinlatvia.com/how-it-works#cases). We limit how many companies share one of our addresses and count those still being registered. See [the legal address](https://startinlatvia.com/legal-address). 2. **An ownership chain**Working out who ultimately owns and controls a company through several levels is easy to get wrong. In one case a company whose own accountant could not complete the registration came to us to finish it. 3. **Questions from the authorities**In our experience the questions can include what the company will actually do and who is behind it. We handle the follow-up and tell you in writing what to send and by when. 4. **Deadlines**The Register sets deadlines for clarifications, and a late answer can mean the state fee is paid again. We confirm before you pay. 3. **We prepare the chain and the documents** — We work out the ownership chain, run our identity and anti-money-laundering checks and draft the documents. You sign remotely with a qualified electronic signature. 4. **We follow it through the Register** — We deal with the Register of Enterprises and tell you in writing what to send and by when. ## Questions about existing companies ### Can my accountant or adviser stay involved? Yes, you are welcome to involve your accountant or adviser. Tell us how you would like to work together and we agree it in writing. We still carry out our own identity and anti-money-laundering checks before we start working together, as the law requires of us (Article 11(1)). ### What do you need to see about our group? The owners of the group, level by level. Once we know the structure we confirm in writing what we need from you and what it will cost, and we ask for identity documents only after that. ### What if the structure cannot be registered as planned? We tell you in writing. Where the problem is something we prepared, we correct it at no additional fee. Where the reason is your information, your choices or a third party, further work and any new state fee are charged. It is clarified individually.
